Last week, the West Virginia University community reflected on the fifth anniversary of the Nolan Burch tragedy and rolled out an anti-hazing campaign, “Would You?”

“The story of Nolan Burch serves a solemn purpose,” Gee said. “It leads us back to our core values, and reminds us that we are united as one West Virginia University family. Therefore, we all bear responsibility for protecting each other.”
The “Would You?” campaign, which launched with the premiere of the documentary “Breathe, Nolan, Breathe,” aims to inform students of the warning signs of medical distress, the meaning behind medical amnesty and all aspects of safety and well-being.
“Any one of us can find ourselves in a situation where things have gone dangerously wrong,” Gee said. “We need to be accountable for each other. Are you Mountaineer enough to help someone in need? Or even save a life?”
