PA-18 shows trend of changing voter priorities

Old tactics aren’t necessarily working in the current political climate, and even large amounts of cash—into the millions in some cases—pumped into a race doesn’t guarantee an election win, according to West Virginia University political science expert R. Scott Crichlow. Even in districts that Trump won by big margins, like the PA-18, Republicans aren’t safe, Crichlow notes. In fact, he says, the big trend is Republican candidates usually running far behind the numbers that President Donald Trump put up in 2016, a trend that could have an effect in Charleston, as well as Washington, D.C.

WVU medical students to receive white coats March 17

The annual John W. Traubert White Coat Ceremony will be held Saturday. The WVU School of Medicine Class of 2020 will receive their white coats, the most significant symbol of their chosen profession.

Not only will this be the first time WVU has hosted IHSA Semi-Finals, but the event will be the first major equine function on the farm since a large-scale revitalization project began almost three years ago. WVU medical students meet their match; discover residency training selections

On Match Day, the graduating class joins family, faculty, staff, administrators and fellow students to share in the celebration. Just before noon, envelopes are unveiled and drawn randomly, and each student has the opportunity to step to the podium (some with families in tow) and open their envelope to share the news about where their residency program will begin.
