WVU plans Friday bell-ringing ceremony

West Virginia University will hold a bell-ringing ceremony, coordinated by the Office of Campus and Community Life and Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, on Friday (Aug. 25) in remembrance of students Moses Lawer-Yolar, Matthew McCoy, and Jacob McCreesh.

Lawer-Yolar, 20, a pre-business major from Morgantown, died on June 12; McCoy, 19, a philosophy major from Buckhannon, died on June 15; and McCreesh, 20, a political science major from Pittstown, New Jersey, died on July 2.

The service will begin around noon at Oglebay Plaza on WVU’s downtown campus, and those interested in attending are asked to be there at least 15 minutes beforehand. Family, friends and members of the University community are welcome to attend Friday’s ceremony.
