The West Virginia University Personal Rapid Transit system will resume operations for Welcome Week activities beginning Aug. 10 with hours from 6:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.

PRT modernization efforts to replace the automatic train control system will continue into the fall/spring semesters in preparation for full scale testing and commissioning during the summer of 2018.

The PRT will resume its normal operating schedule Wednesday, Aug. 16, the first day of classes on the WVU campus. Hours will be 6:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and closed on Sunday.

With limited parking available, Transportation and Parking encourages the use of alternative transportation, if possible.

The University has partnered with Mountain Line Transit Authority to begin operating the Blue & Gold (Route 38) bus on Aug. 10. This route runs from 6:40 a.m. to 8:40 p.m. Monday through Friday, 3:20 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
