As 2016 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on some of West Virginia University’s most memorable moments of the year.

This photo gallery contains a selection of our picks for WVU’s best images of 2016, including flood clean-up and assistance in southern West Virginia and athletic success in football and women’s soccer.

But it wasn’t just hard work in the community or on the field that made the year special. It was our International Street Festival, our service dog program that pairs dogs with prisoners and more.

Our 2016 In Review video proves that Mountaineers, more often than not, indeed Go First.

Also, today (Dec. 30), we’re counting down our picks for WVU’s top 10 stories of the year on Twitter (@WVUToday). Throughout the course of the day, we will tweet the links to each story.

From student achievements in athletics and in the classroom, to faculty accomplishments in science and healthcare research, as well as alumni who continue to contribute to WVU’s mission as a land-grant institution, 2016 was a year of discovery and innovation for WVU.
