Celebrate the holiday season with a Winter Lights Buffet and Breakfast with Santa at West Virginia University Jackson’s Mill near Weston.

The Winter Lights Buffet takes place Dec. 9 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Steak and turkey will be served. The price is $14 for adults, $7 for children ages 4 to 12 and free for children age 3 and under.

Visitors may receive $1 off the buffet price by bringing a nonperishable food item for donation to the local pantry.

Breakfast with Santa is on Dec. 17 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The menu for this event includes French toast and scrambled eggs. The price is $8 for all ages and free for children age 3 and under.

No reservations are needed for either event and cash, check and credit card are all accepted as payment at both.

The events, held annually, are an important part of the holiday season for West Virginia families and the Jackson’s Mill staff.

“The holiday buffets are a tradition for a lot of families in the state,” said Truman Wolfe, director of WVU Jackson’s Mill. “These events bring people together for the holidays in a setting that celebrates the history and community of West Virginia.”

WVU Jackson’s Mill is known for uniting youths from around the state during the summer months for WVU Extension’s 4-H camping season, and during the winter months becomes a festive and scenic event location for the people of West Virginia and their families.
