West Virginia University - News and Information Services

NIS staff assist the public in learning about the state's flagship higher education institution. We respond to media inquiries and provide news organizations with press releases, tip sheets and feature story ideas. We also arrange press conferences, radio and television interviews, personal visits to the WVU campus, satellite uplinks of news events and photo shoots.

NIS also is a facilitator for internal communications at WVU, producing bi-weekly The Mountaineer Spirit newspaper and Mountaineer E-News. We also maintain the WVU intranet.

NIS produces the Parents Club Newsletter, published three times a year for parents of undergraduates, and is a contributor to the WVU Alumni Magazine. Our Web-based publications are accessible by using the links provided on this page.
