Peking Acrobats dive into WVU Creative Arts Center March 14
The Peking Acrobats, a group of China’s most gifted tumblers, contortionists, jugglers, cyclists and gymnasts, will bring their awe-inspiring show to the West Virginia University Creative Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 14. Tickets are going fast for this event that promises entertainment for the entire family.
The Peking Acrobats' ability to perform the astounding is rooted in centuries of Chinese history and folk art. The members of the group will take this ancient acrobatic tradition and push it to new limits as they complete daring maneuvers atop a pyramid of chairs, treacherous wire walking, powerful precision tumbling, superhuman displays of contortion and gymnastics feats that must be seen to be believed.
The New York Post says, “If daring and dexterity turn you on, this is a show that will probably twist you around in your seat … It’s amazing and exciting!”
The Peking Acrobats have been captivating audiences in sold-out theater tours since 1986. They have performed all over the world to standing ovations and packed houses in Europe, Australia, North America, the Middle East, Africa and numerous Asian countries.
They have appeared on numerous television shows including the FOX primetime hit “Guinness World Records,” where they set the world record for the human chair stack, balancing six people atop six chairs — 21 feet into the air without the comfort of safety lines. The acrobats were also recognized in Hollywood by former member Shaobo Qin’s role as Yen, Danny Ocean’s “Grease Man” in the Oceans 11 trilogy, starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
Now their 2,000 years of tradition and perfection can be seen in Morgantown for one night only in the intimacy of the Creative Arts Center’s Concert Theatre.

WVU students can purchase tickets for $25 with a valid Mountaineer Card at the campus box offices.
