ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Reporters are encouraged to cover the brief student presentations. The WVU Center for Civic Engagement is coordinating the event, which began as a grassroots student event five years ago. All campus organizations were invited to attend the forum. Kim Colebank, director of the center, said this event is a great way to learn about student life and community outreach at WVU.

“Student organizations use this opportunity to focus on the tremendous service they have provided to the community during the academic year,” she said. “Spotlighted in the past have been organizations that provided ‘street rounds,’ medical care to the homeless in Morgantown; those who work with students with eating disorders; special programs that benefited nonprofits in the community; and many others.”

The event will begin with a small reception followed by reports from the various organizations. President Hardesty will address the representatives and participate in a brief question-and-answer session, time permitting.
