WVU Division of Accounting to get new director

Tim Pearson has been named director of the Division of Accounting in West Virginia University’s College of Business and Economics.

Pearson will begin his new position in August. He replaces Ann Pushkin, who is returning to teaching and research responsibilities in the college.

Pearson, who is from Madison, Wisc., is an associate professor of accounting and a certified public accountant.

He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and secondary education and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He obtained a doctorate in accounting and information systems there in 1990.

The accounting program is the largest of six degree tracks in the College of Business and Economics with approximately 231 undergraduate students and 51 graduate students. In 2004, it presented graduate certificates to the first group in the new Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigation program.
