Second summer session at WVU begins July 1

The second session of summer courses at West Virginia University begins Thursday, July 1.

Summer Session II begins two days after the first session ends.

There is still time to register for the second session, said Sue Day-Perroots, dean of Extended Learning. Students have until Wednesday, July 7, to register or add classes, although many summer courses have nontraditional starting and ending dates.

Available courses range from required core offerings such as introduction to physics and humanities classes to courses geared to specific majors such as business or engineering, Day-Perroots said. WVU offers many of these courses online, a trend that continues to grow in popularity.

"Whether you are looking to fulfill core curriculum requirements, earn more hours toward graduation or improve your grade-point average, there is a summer course that meets your needs," she added.
