WVU Opera Theatre to present 'Opera Scenes' Oct. 20-21

The West Virginia University opera program will present "Opera Scenes" at the Creative Arts Center Friday, Oct. 20, and Saturday, Oct. 21.

Under the direction of Robert Thieme, "A Taste of Mozart and German Operetta" will include works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Strauss, Carl Zeller, Fraz Léhar and Robert Stolz.

Friday’s performance begins at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday's matinee performance begins at 3:15 p.m. in the Antoinette Falbo Theatre.

The WVU voice students performing the major roles will be joined by the WVU Symphony Orchestra conducted by Harvey Felder.

WVU voice students include Justin Barclay, Samantha Bartlow, Danielle Goode, Sarah Grisso, Roy Hage, William Hostutler, Min Sue Kim, Emily Lapisardi, Sarah Lynch, Emma Marioles, Christina Romich, Daniel Salls, Glenna Smiesko, Dorothy Smith, Michael Spencer, Michael Talerico, Louise van Mook, Jennifer Vanella and Elizabeth Zell.
