The WVU Concert Band, a 95-member ensemble comprised of music majors and non-majors, will perform a concert at the Mountainlair Ballrooms, Tuesday, Nov. 19.
The event begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The program will feature “Armenian Dances” by Alfred Reed, “Irish Tune from County Derry” and “Shepherd’s Hey” by Percy Grainger, “Jupiter” from “The Planets” by Gustav Holst, “Imani” by Sean O’Loughlin, “Flourish for Wind Band” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, “Farandole” from “L’Arlesienne” by Georges Bizet, “British Eighth March” by Zo Elliott and the “Final Battle and Finale” from “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” by Michael Kamen.
The Concert Band is directed by WVU Associate Director of Bands John Hendricks. Guest conductors will be Director of Bands Don Wilcox, Dearl J. Drury, and Kelly Fronzaglia.
