West Virginia University - News and Information ServicesProject Gear-Up, a program sponsored by Fairmont State College and scheduled to be held at West Virginia University tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 13) will go on as planned, FSU officials said.
The free workshop for current or prospective public teachers and social service workers will be held from 8:45 a.m.-4 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum.
Topic of the workshop led by Dr. Ruby Payne, an education expert, will concern poverty’s impact on both students and teacher effectiveness.
WVU announced Thursday that all home and away athletic events, including Saturday’s WVU-Maryland football game at College Park, have been canceled or postponed. However, many other scheduled activities at WVU athletic facilities are going on as planned, such as this conference.
