Next WVU blood drive set for Monday
Tuesday's blood drive successful

The American Red Cross blood drive held Tuesday (Sept. 11) was a success, said Suzan Clemens, American Red Cross donor resources field representative.

A second WVU drive will be held from noon-6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, in the WVU Shell Building.

"We are very pleased with the tremendous response we got yesterday during our Boreman Hall blood drive," said Suzan Clemens, American Red Cross donor resources field representative. "We gathered nearly 76 units, twice as much as our goal," she said. "In fact, we had to turn some folks away. The American Red Cross sends out a tremendous thank you to WVU and the community who turned out to give blood. We hope we get a similar turn-out on Monday."

Other blood drives in the area include:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 12, noon-6 p.m., Glenville State College’s Wesley Foundation
  • Thursday, Sept. 13, noon-6 p.m., Carmichaels Fire Hall
  • Saturday, Sept. 15, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Trinity Assembly of God, 70 Maranatha Drive, Fairmont

Other blood drives will be scheduled at a later date.

To give blood, individuals need to be 17 years of age, 105 pounds and in good health. For more information, call Clemens at 598-0732.
