WVU residence halls preparing to close for Thanksgiving holiday

A mass exodus of students will soon occur on the campus of West VirginiaUniversity when residence halls close for the Thanksgiving holiday break, Nov. 25-29.

WVU students have until 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, to temporarily vacate their premises, said Corey Farris, assistant dean for Residential Education.

Campus residence halls will remain closed until noon Sunday, Dec. 1; classes resume Monday, Dec. 2.

Beginning Friday, the Mountaineer Parents Club, in cooperation with the WVU Motor Pool, will offer rides – for a small fee – to the PittsburghAirport and to four out-of state locations: Hagerstown, Md; Allentown, Pa.; Newark, N.J.; and Port Authority, N.Y.

Rides to the PittsburghAirport leave at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. from in front of the Mountainlair, and 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. from the Evansdale Residential Complex.

Return rides are scheduled to leave the PittsburghAirport at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1.

Out-of-state buses also leave Friday afternoon from in front of the Mountainlair at 1:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. from the ERC.

Buses return on Sunday, Dec. 1, at varying times, depending on location, for return to Morgantown by approximately 6:30 p.m.
