WVU seeking information on state high school sports integration
Researchers at West Virginia University are archiving information pertaining to the integration of high school sports in West Virginia.
The purpose of the project is to preserve the historical contributions of blacks in West Virginia high school sports and to identify significant black student athletes, administrators and faculty members who became leaders in the movement to integrate the state's high school, college and professional sports teams.
Researchers are trying to locate early team or individual pictures, letters, articles, uniforms, playing cards or press guides.
