WVU Community Music faculty to perform

Musicians who teach in the West Virginia University Community Music Program will share their talents Friday, Feb. 24, during the program's annual faculty solo/chamber recital.

The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Antoinette Falbo Theatre of the Creative Arts Center . The concert is free and open to the public.

The program will include Debussy's “Beau Soir” and Hindemith's “Capriccio in A Major,” performed by Mary Morrison, cello, and John Morrison, piano; Avon 's “Fantaisie de Concert,” Jeanne Frieben, clarinet, and Amanda Lee, piano; and Bolcom's “Old Adam” from “Garden of Eden,” Natalie Buckley, piano.

Josh Janotta, tenor, and pianist Amanda Lee will present De Falla's “Siete Canciones populares Espanõlas,” and violinist Patricia van der Sloot and pianist Catherine Crotty will perform Franck's “Sonata in A Major.”

The concert will also feature the Mozart songs “Abendempfindung, Als Luise die Briefe ihres ungetreuen Liebhabers verbrannte” and “Trennungslied,” Catharine Thieme, mezzo-soprano, and Christine Kefferstan, piano; and Lalliet's “Terzetto for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano, Op. 22,” Amy Galbraith, oboe, Alicia Whitney, bassoon, and John Morrison, piano.
