Students, known as WVU cadets, are serving as the "eyes and ears" for the University Police, helping to promote a secure atmosphere on campus. The program, Partners for Safety, has proven so successful at enhancing security on campus that it has been extended into the 2008-2009 academic year with $20,000 in University funding. The initial group of cadets who helped kick off the program, and their mentors are pictured here, (standing, from left), WVU Police Sgt. Peggy Runyon; cadets Roy Drake, Wesley Talbott and David Weimer; and, WVU Police Lt. Brian Hoxter. Sitting (l-r) are cadets Matt Childers and Jonathan Friend.
