K9 Unit boosts mission of WVU Police
April 9th, 2013A recent visit to a Girl Scout Troop in Morgantown demonstrates a glimpse of the value bomb dogs Bella and Ginger and drug dogs Blek and Dexter have brought to the WVU Police Department and the entire university over the last few years. Whether it's a specific detection duty or general public relations, the dogs have been invaluable in not only helping keep WVU's campus safe but also serving as lovable liaisons between the police and community. -
Members of the WVU Police Department recently teamed with College of Education and Human Services students for a training session to prepare these future teachers on how to recognize and respond to imminent threats at schools and conduct effective safety procedures.
