WVU Extension: Wear purple on April 15 to support military families
April 11th, 2013West Virginians are encouraged to wear purple on Monday, April 15, in support of military children and their family members who serve. The event, known as "Purple Up!" helps raise awareness for the state's 8,000 military families, according to Laura Davis, WVU Extension Service's Operation Military Kids representative. -
As part of an effort to boost interest among talented students in science, technology, engineering and math programs, WVU's Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources is partnering with The Edventure Group to promote STEM learning environments in several Preston County schools this fall.

WVU holiday book drive aims to make difference close to home and around the state
November 19th, 2012WVU's College of Human Resources and Education Alumni Association and WVU Extension Service's award winning summer literacy program, Energy Express, have joined forces and are organizing a children's holiday book drive starting Nov. 23 through Dec. 17. The drive will benefit low income children grades K-6 in north central West Virginia and around the state. -

Watts Museum in the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources presents its latest exhibition, The Story of Engineering: West Virginia University, 1887-2012. The exhibition explores the history of engineering at WVU and traces the College's growth since the founding of its first department, civil and mining engineering, in 1887. -
