May 3rd, 2013Jamie Summerlin, an ultra-marathoner and veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, will sign copies of his book, "Freedom Run: A 100-Day, 3,452-Mile Journey Across America to Benefit Wounded Veterans," at Barnes & Noble in Morgantown May 11, starting at 4 p.m. The book is published by Fitness Information Technology, a division of the International Center for Performance Excellence at WVU's College of Physical of Activity and Sport Sciences. -
Graduation cords for veterans available for pick-up April 24-May 10
April 19th, 2013WVU is proud to formally recognize current and former military personnel taking part in the 2013 May Commencement. Red, white and blue cords will be made available to service members who show proof of service at one of two locations: the Office of University Events on the third floor of Purinton House and the WVU Veterans Office on the second floor of the Mountainlair. Cords will be available April 24-May 10 during business hours. -

WVU named 'Military Friendly' campus for fourth year in row
September 17th, 2012Being at the forefront of veterans initiatives has landed WVU a national reputation and earned it a fourth straight mention on G.I.Jobs' list of "military friendly schools." The G.I.Jobs honor features the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students. -
West Virginia University will begin to offer the Yellow Ribbon program to student military veterans in four graduate programs.
