In honor of National Historic Preservation Month, the West Virginia Humanities Council is bringing Sir Neil Cossons, distinguished historian, museum director and former chairman of English Heritage, to West Virginia University for a public lecture entitled, "A Future for the Past: Preserving the Past as an Asset for the Future," on May 8, 7 p.m. at The Erickson Alumni Center. The program is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.

Trauma surgeon to address graduates at WVU 2012 December convocation Dec. 9
November 27th, 2012Alison Wilson, MD, FACS, director of the Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center at Ruby Memorial Hospital, will address graduates. She is an associate professor in the WVU School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, and director of the Division of Trauma, Acute Care Surgery and Critical Care. -

WVU to honor WWII hero during Pearl Harbor Day celebration
November 30th, 2011Doris "Dorie" Miller came to the defense of his country, and the USS West Virginia, in a time of dire need. Ken Veselicky, a radiologist at West Virginia University, felt it was time for someone to come through for Dorie Miller. Thanks to Veselicky?s persistence, WVU will honor Miller with a plaque at a ceremony celebrating the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor at 11 a.m. Dec. 7 at Oglebay Hall plaza. -
WVU to host Purdue University president for Bucklew lecture
