WVU PR students gaining unique insight into global health care through hands-on capstone course
March 21st, 2013Next week, a group WVU P.I. Reed School of Journalism students will travel to Italy to meet with their international client and present their work as public relations practitioners. Led by senior lecturer Chuck Harman, the students formed their own agency, American Activist Agency, and have spent the spring semester communicating with and building a promotional campaign for the Italian-based non-profit organization Cittadinanzattiva. -
WVU student exploring U.K.'s culture thanks to scholarship alum created
February 25th, 2013Jacob Edmonds, of Centreville, Va., is spending the spring semester in the U.K. as the first student from the Statler College to take advantage of the Dr. Wils Cooley Study Abroad Scholarship. The scholarship was created in 2011 by Sarah (Lovell) Soliman, in honor of her former mentor Cooley, professor emeritus in the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. -

WVU Honors Estonia Independence with Parliamentarians' visit Feb. 28
February 21st, 2012Six high-ranking members of Estonia's Parliament will pay a special visit to the campus of WVU on Tuesday, Feb. 28. From 6 to 8 p.m. An Estonian Evening in Morgantown will include a WVU Reception from 6 to 8 p.m. in Elizabeth Moore Hall on WVU's downtown campus. The event is open to the public. -

The Office is accepting applications for Global Education Opportunity grants for students seeking support to study abroad in the current academic year. The deadline is Oct. 15. -

WVU junior awarded Boren Scholarship for international study
April 30th, 2010West Virginia University junior Justin R. Moore would like to learn more about the historical relationship between China, Korea and Japan and wants to use that information to better serve the United States. The international studies and political science student from New Columbia, Pa., is WVU's seventh recipient of the National Security Education Program's David L. Boren Scholarship. -
WVU students in Ghana help raise $1,500 to build library
February 17th, 2010During West Virginia University's winter break, two WVU students traveled to Ghana to help build the nation's second library. The students were so moved by the people and the experience that they helped raise an additional $1,500, while in rural Ghana, to help complete the library. -
