WVU College of Law conference to explore natural gas economic growth
April 16th, 2013An upcoming free conference organized by the WVU College of Law will focus on policies that would stimulate the demand for natural gas to stabilize domestic prices at economically viable levels. Hosted by the College of Law's Center for Energy and Sustainable Development, Energy Conference 2013: Natural Gas as the Bridge to Sustainability and Economic Growth will be held Wednesday, April 24, starting at 8:30 a.m. at WVU's Erickson Alumni Center. -

Statler College welcomes students from Mexico
April 15th, 2013Victor Mucino of WVU's Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering has led teams of students to Queretaro, Mexico to meet and partner with Mexican students since the 1990s. The Department's Industrial Outreach Program pairs WVU students with Mexican students to work on solving practical problems often seen in industry. This semester, for the first time, Mexican students came to WVU. -
The U.S. Forest Service's Wings Across the Americas program recently honored the Eastern Golden Eagle Working Group, an international collaboration of biologists and wildlife managers from 20 institutions in the United States and Canada, with its 2013 Research and Management Partnership Award.

WVU's Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources receives software donation from ANSYS
April 11th, 2013WVU's Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources is the recipient of a software bundle donation from ANSYS Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes. The technology will be used for research and teaching in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. -
Three WVU faculty members honored with James and Arthur Gabriel/Gabriel Brothers, Inc. Faculty Award
April 8th, 2013Those selected for the James and Arthur Gabriel/Gabriel Brothers, Inc. Faculty Award include two English Department faculty members, Brian Ballentine, associate professor and coordinator of professional writing and editing, and Mark Brazaitis, professor and coordinator of creative writing; and Rebecca M. Statler College award winners announced
April 5th, 2013Gene Cilento, Glen H. Hiner Dean of the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources announced the winners of the College's outstanding teacher, researcher and advisor awards for 2012-2013. The awards were handed out at the College's annual Honors Ceremony, which was Friday, April 5. -
Emily Lipscomb, a senior majoring in civil and environmental engineering at WVU, is the recipient of a 2013 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship that will support her work to identify water pollution sources.
