West Virginia University’s College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences has created a new web site to promote Lifetime Activities, a community-based program for adults and children. The site features information about fitness and wellness classes, including 2016 summer youth camps. Summer 2016 class details and registration are now available on the site.

Summer camps include the National Youth Sports Program for children ages 10-16, June 21 – July 15. Activities will be held at the WVU Shell building. The daily sessions run from 8:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. NYSP provides campers a chance to learn new sports and activities, while teaching the importance of being physically active for their own positive emotional and physical well-being. Daily lunch and bus transportation are provided.

The WVU Sports Medicine/Athletic Training Camp is open for children ages 13 – 18, August 8 in the CPASS building, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The Sports Medicine/Athletic Training camp is for students interested in the medical field. This program will provide students with an opportunity to learn about common sports medicine topics such as hydration, concussions, injury prevention and musculoskeletal injuries. There will be lectures and labs as well as tour stops at campus training facilities.

The Blue and Gold Kids Club is a summer day camp designed for elementary aged children, 5 – 11. The camp promotes new skills while making friends in a fun and safe environment. Campers will experience a variety of weekly activities, grouped with their peers, including a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. Weekly sessions run from June 13 through July 8 in the WVU Health and Education building, 8:15 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Lifetime Activities program also offers adults’ and children’s classes in swimming, gymnastics and Martial Arts. Visit the web site for all registration dates and deadlines. Class details are available at http://lifetimeactivities.wvu.edu. For more information call 304-293-0859.
