University Place apartments is holding an open house Wednesday (March 30) to host a day of fun for students, faculty and staff. The event will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and will have food, games, $30,000 worth in prizes and WVAQ live on location.

“We want to show everyone all the great things that University Place has to offer, including some new amenities we have planned for the complex,” said property manager Tara Gilchrist.

University Place is a $70 million mixed use residential and retail complex in the heart of Morgantown’s Sunnyside district just a few blocks from WVU’s Downtown Campus.

The complex has apartments and studios, townhomes and a parking garage. There are also five retail businesses currently operating at University Place; Sheetz, Insomnia Cookies, Papa Allen’s Pizza and Burgerz and Dogz with Pro Performance slated to open next month.

“All of our retail shops will also be participating in the day’s event and will be giving away free food and prizes. It’s going to be a fun day for our residents and WVU community,” said Gilchrist.

Parking will be free all day in the University Place Garage, directly across the street from the complex, and parking permits can still be purchased.
