You’re invited to sing your way through Europe with the West Virginia University Choral Artists.

“The WVU Choral Artists, a recently founded auditioned choir, allows students, alumni, faculty, and community members to perform a capella repertoire and to travel and perform in stunning venues around the world,” said Kym Scott, director of choral activities in WVU’s School of Music.

The choir is a project-based ensemble that will rehearse together during summer break before embarking on a European tour. In July, the choir will travel to Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

“The tour will begin in Frankfurt and a tour along the Rhine,” Scott said. “Next, we’ll move on to the heart of Switzerland with time in Lucerne and Innsbruck. The trip will conclude in Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart.”

Choral Artists will be mailed music in advance to allow them to prepare. The choir will meet for rehearsals on July 5 and 6 prior to the July 7 departure. The tour runs through July 17, and partners, friends, and supporters are welcome to join the tour. Choir participation is not required.

Total cost for the tour is $3,600 for land and flights, $1,700 for land only. It includes 9 nights of first class accommodations, all transfers, 13 meals, and a full-time, English speaking tour manager.
