The West Virginia University of Social Work”:http://socialwork.wvu.edu/ is offering the Spring 2016 season of professional and community education programs for social workers, counselors, and nurses who wish to earn continuing education credit.

Workshops will cover a variety of topics aimed to help human service providers stay up-to-date with new developments in their field as well as coping techniques.

Charleston/Beckley workshops:

April 12 – “So Bad, the President Came: Addiction Basics and Trends,” 1-4 p.m., WVU-Charleston, Room 4020, Charleston. Registration Fee: $35 (early bird rate of $31.50 by March 18).

May 13 – “Play Therapy + Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy = Dynamic Duo of Brain & Behavior Change,” 9 a.m.-4p.m., Beckley-Raleigh Convention Center, Carter Room, Beckley. Registration Fee: $65 (early bird rate of $58.50 by April 15).

Martinsburg/Moorefield workshops:

April 15 – “Mindfulness and Meaning: Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,” 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lackey Hall, Martinsburg. Registration Fee: $75 (early bird rate of $67.50 by March 18).

April 26 – “Mindfulness and Self Compassion: Antidotes to Compassion Fatigue,” 9 a.m.-4 p.m., South Branch Inn, Moorefield. Registration Fee: $65 (early bird rate of $58.50 by April 1).

May 18 – ”’What Should I Do?’ Ethics of Boundary Extensions and Confidentiality,” 9 a.m.-4 p.m., St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lackey Hall, Martinsburg. Registration Fee: $65 (early bird rate of $58.50 by April 22).
