The West Virginia University Career Services Center will host their 5th Annual Mocktail Party & Fashion Show on March 8, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.

The event is designed to help students gain a competitive edge in the job market by honing their professional image as well as networking and communication skills.

This is an interactive workshop where students will learn how to perfect their elevator pitch with personalized feedback from corporate recruiters, conduct themselves during formal and informal events, and distinguish between business casual, professional, and interview attire.

Recruiters from various industries will be providing the individualized feedback and advice to students. The evening will include a fashion show where participants can watch their fellow students strut the runway in the latest business fashions and conclude in a business-casual setting where they can network with recruiters while snacking on appetizers.

“The Mocktail Party & Fashion Show actually makes it fun to learn how to network and what to wear in professional situations,” said Sarah Rotruck Glenn, Associate Director of the WVU Career Services Center.

“These are critical skills that students need in order to secure a job, so this gives them the opportunity to develop them while also enjoying free food, mocktails and prizes.”

Refreshments include appetizers and non-alcoholic ‘mocktails’. There will also be drawings throughout the evening for various prizes, including a GoPro HERO4.

Space is limited! Registration is free and now open in MountaineerTRAK.
