Screening committee named for dean of online learning/continuing professional education
A screening committee has been appointed for dean of online learning and continuing professional education at West Virginia University. John Campbell, associate provost for information technology and chief information officer, will chair the committee.
Other members of the committee are:
- Mark Gavin, associate dean for graduate programs and research impact/professor of management, College of Business & Economics
- Chad Mezera, director of online programs, Reed College of Media.
- Barbara Ludlow, professor & chair, Department of Special Education.
- Julie Thalman, director of student success, WVU Online & Extended Campus.
- Cindy Hart, director, WVU Online and Extended Campus.
- Sherry Kuehn, program administrator senior, Continuing and Professional Education.
- Denise Watkins-Payne, senior project coordinator, Talent Strategy.
“WVU Online Learning and Continuing Education has become essential to the university’s land-grant mission to expand access to education,” Campbell said. “We are looking for a candidate who can both build upon our success with the schools and colleges and create new opportunities for enrollment growth and program development.”
A summer 2016 start date is anticipated for the new dean, who will report directly to Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Joyce McConnell.
