West Virginia University’s Personal Rapid Transit is currently immersed in a phased multimillion-dollar modernization plan. As the software development and testing phase begins, it will be necessary to shut down service on the following four Saturdays: Oct. 31, Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12.

The testing involves the PRT’s new automatic train controls system. This interruption will not affect service for WVU home football games, open house events or any other large WVU functions. The University will provide transportation to supplement the loss of the PRT on these dates. Your patience is appreciated.

On these Saturdays, WVU will provide a free bus shuttle service.Buses will operate from 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and pick up and drop off at Bennett Tower, Engineering Loop, B&E Loop (ST-10 gravel lot). For any extended service beyond 5:30 p.m., passengers can utilize the Mountain Line bus service. The first run on the Blue & Gold connector begins at 3:20 pm with the last run ending at 7:20 pm.In addition, the Campus PM bus runs from 6:00 p.m.- 2:50 a.m.For more information on Mountain Line routes, please visit their website at www.busride.org.
