Wednesday, Oct. 14
RECITAL: Awea Duo
A pair with a passion for chamber music will visit West Virginia University to present a guest recital. The Awea Duo, with Jennifer Brimson Cooper on flute and Mas Sugihara on saxophone, will perform at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, in Bloch Hall, 200A Creative Arts Center.

Thursday, Oct. 15
WORKSHOP AND RECITAL: Nicolas Carter, Harpist
Paraguayan harpist Nicolas Carter will return to Morgantown on October 15 to offer a free harp workshop and a recital at West Virginia University’s Creative Arts Center. Several extra harps will be available at the workshop, 4 to 5:30 p.m. in 424A Creative Arts Center. Beginners are welcome. The recital will follow at 6:30 p.m. in the Bloch Hall, 220 Creative Arts Center.

VISITING ARTIST LECTURE: John Pe�a, Printmaker
John Pe�a, a multidisciplinary artist who makes art as a way of exploring the natural world and his daily interactions, will present a Visiting Artist Lecture at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, in the Creative Arts Center’s Bloch Learning and Performance Hall, 200A. A reception will follow at 6 p.m., along with the opening of an exhibition of Pe�a’s work at the Laura Mesaros Gallery. His exhibition will run through Dec. 9.

FACULTY RECITAL: William Skidmore, Cello
As he prepares to conclude a 38-year career, cellist William Skidmore will present his last pre-retirement recital at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, in Bloch Recital Hall, 200A Creative Arts Center.

PAUL MESAROS GALLERY: John Pe�a, Printmaker, Monday through Saturday, 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Pe�a is a visual artist, illustrator and educator who makes art as a way of exploring the natural world and his daily interactions. He has attended a number of residencies including Skowhegan, Bemis & The Fine Arts Work Center. He was also the recipient of the 2012 Carol R. Brown Creative Achievement Award as an Emerging Artist and recently created an artwork for the Mattress Factory Museum in Pittsburgh.
