Tickets will go on sale today (Aug. 18) at 10 a.m. at the Mountainlair and Creative Arts Center box offices, online at Ticketmaster.com and by phone at 800-745-3000 and 304-293-SHOW for a performance from Hip-hop heavyweight A$AP Rocky, who will bring his talents to the WVU Coliseum on Friday, Sept. 18. Showtime is set for 8:30 p.m.

A$AP Rocky draws his influences from the southern-style swagger of UGK, a hip hop duo from Port Arthur, Texas and the rhymes of his hometown heroes the Diplomats. A rock star in his own right A$AP Rocky has developed an eclectic and unique hip hop audience. Billboard magazine named his set at Lollapalooza 2015 the best performance of the three-day festival.

Rocky is a member of the Harlem-based hip hop collective A$AP Mob, a group of rappers, producers, music video directors, fashion designers and bikers who share similar interests in music, fashion, style and art. The self-proclaimed “hood outcast” first gained attention for his internet-leaked singles “Peso” and “Trilla.” His 2013 debut album “Long. Live. A$AP” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Rocky followed that up with the 2015 release of “At. Long. Last. A$AP” which also debuted at No.1 on the same chart. It also spent four weeks atop Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart.

Billboard describes “At. Long. Last. A$AP” as “more expansive, more inclusive and much deeper [than the previous album], with a palette that dips into blues rock, Wu-Tang Clan, G-Funk, psychedelic folk and more.” A$AP Rocky is also directs music videos—his own as well as others in A$AP Mob—and is a successful record producer under the pseudonym Lord Flacko.
