Do you finish every tweet with #HailWV on a Mountaineer game day? Is it a must for you to take a selfie in the stands of Milan Puskar Stadium this season? Well, you might be just what West Virginia University is looking for in its next Ultimate Mountaineer Fan.

Starting today (Aug. 10) and running through Aug. 20, WVU fans have the opportunity to enter the Ultimate Mountaineer Fan competition through one of three different social media challenges:

  • Mountaineers are on top of the world! Show your Mountaineer gear wherever you may be … whether it’s Cooper’s Rock or the Golden Gate Bridge or even the Great Wall of China.
  • Create the most awkward family photo while sporting your Mountaineer gear.
  • Get spirited at work, home or on the go! Show us your college colors taking over your office, man cave or dorm.

Post your entry on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtags #collegecolors and #HailWV to enter successfully.

Four finalists will be announced and fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite finalist from Aug. 26 to Sept. 3 via social media poll. A winner will be chosen based on fan votes, creativity and overall WVU pride.

The winner will earn an expenses-paid trip for two to Norman, Oklahoma for the WVU/Oklahoma football game on Oct. 3, which is also Mountaineer Nation Day. In addition, the winner will receive a $500 American Express gift card, have the chance to visit Top of the World, WVU’s No. 1 headwear licensee, and design their own WVU hat. The winner will share their experience with all of Mountaineer Nation on social media.

The winner will be announced on College Colors Day Sept. 4, a day before WVU opens the 2015 football season at home against Georgia Southern, on our @WestVirginiaU Twitter account.
