The WVU Career Services Center, in collaboration with the West Virginia University academic colleges, is hosting the inaugural Mountaineer University Employer Summit on July 15 and 16 at the Waterfront Place Hotel.

The new event was designed to enhance relationships with organizations currently recruiting WVU students as well as showcase WVU to potential employers.

“Employer interest in Mountaineer University has proven very strong, particularly for this inaugural event,” said Sarah Rotruck Glenn, WVU Career Services Center assistant director. “We are looking forward to strengthening our industry partnerships to bring additional high quality employment opportunities to our students and alumni.”

More than 80 employers from diverse industries and geographical locations are set to participate in the Summit, including Marathon Petroleum, Oshkosh Corporation, Momentive, UMPC, U.S. Peace Corps, Lockheed Martin, Noblis, and Aramark.

Break-out sessions will cover topics such as campus branding strategies, research opportunities, investing in the University, how to make the most of experiential learning programs, and more. For additional information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qaagnsg.

All WVU faculty are invited to attend the Mountaineer University Employer Summit networking reception on Wednesday (July 15) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Kennedy Club Room of the Erickson Alumni Center. The reception will allow employers and faculty to visit in a more intimate and relaxed setting than the Summit provides. Faculty are encouraged to RSVP by July 10.
