The WVU School of Music will present the annual Viola Boot Camp, a four-day intensive event for violists, ages 15 to adult, during June 15-18 at the Creative Arts Center. All ability levels are welcome.

The founder and director of the camp is Andrea Priester Houde, who is assistant professor of viola in the School of Music.

She said the camp will includes daily lessons, master classes, technique classes, lectures and ensembles.

“This camp will bring participants together from several states, near and far,” she said. “It will be a great chance for students and adult amateurs to learn new skills, prepare for auditions and festivals, and just have fun with other violists.”

To register, email Andrea Priester Houde, WVU Assistant Professor of Viola, at wvuvioladay@gmail.com or call 304-293-5777.

Registration includes tuition and campus housing, including room and board. Hotel accommodations are also available for adult participants.

Early registration is encouraged, but students may register up until the first day of camp.
