Interested in 3D graphics, modeling or animation? Want to gain basic foundation to build upon? ART 393B, a WVU summer course in 3D Modeling/Animation is being offered for students interested in learning the basics of these skills.

Associate Professor Gerald Habarth, who coordinates the electronic media area in the WVU School of Art and Design’s Intermedia and Photography Program, will lead this course.

3D Modeling/Animation runs for three weeks and is open to students in any major. It includes six in-studio sessions and nine on-line or remote sessions.

Students will learn how to model their own 3D character, create a custom texture for it, make a basic animation of it in 3D space, render it with advanced settings, and create a final movie file of their animation.

The 3D Modeling/Animation course runs from June 8-26, 2015. For more information about the class, contact Gerald Habarth at Gerald.Habarth@mail.wvu.edu or phone 304-293-2564.
