The West Virginia University Dance Program will present its annual spring dance concert at the Creative Arts Center April 30 and May 1.

There will be two performances each evening at 7 and 9 p.m. in the Antoinette Falbo Theatre.

This year’s spring showcase features a variety of dance styles, including ballet, tap, contemporary, jazz and hip hop. The show also includes new, original choreography created by WVU Student Dance Association members.

The concert is run solely by students from the Dance Major Capstone Class and the Student Dance Association, under the direction of WVU Dance Program Director Yoav Kaddar.

“This year’s final dance production is special, as it is produced by students from our first Dance Capstone Class, three of whom will be the first WVU Dance graduates this spring,” said Dr. Kaddar. “The main objective of the course is to give our graduating students experience in producing their own dance concert from public relations, fundraising, production and of course choreography and performance.”

Seating for the Spring Dance Concert is general admission and all tickets are $9. Tickets may be purchased by calling (304) 293-SHOW or visiting the WVU Box Office at the Mountainlair or the Creative Arts Center. Tickets will also be available at the door.
