West Virginia University Jackson’s Mill is inviting the community to come spend quality time with friends and family and enjoy the season during its upcoming winter events.

Events will take place Dec. 12-13 and include winter lights and a breakfast with Santa.

Winter lights will take place from 4:30-7p.m. on Friday (Dec. 12). This event is free and open to the public. Visitors can enjoy the grounds, which are decorated and lit with holiday lights. Local 4-H clubs, organizations and businesses add their own personal touch to the Mill’s campus by decorating cottages.

The General Store located on the grounds offers a variety of licensed WVU items for those looking to leave with a souvenir. Special store hours for winter lights are noon-8 p.m.

In addition to the lights, a buffet dinner will be served in the Mount Vernon Dining Hall. Admission is $12 for adults and $6 for children. Receive $1 off admission with any non-perishable food donation which will be donated to local food banks.

The menu includes roasted turkey and baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, broccoli with cheese, salad bar and dessert.

Breakfast with Santa will take place Saturday (Dec. 13) from 8-11 a.m. and gives children the opportunity to tell Santa what they wish for this holiday season. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon, home fries and more. Cost for admission is $7 per person.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a camera to take advantage of photo opportunities.
