The West Virginia University School of Theatre and Dance is presenting an informal concert titled “A Celebration of Dance,” Dec. 4 and 5, at the Creative Arts Center. The event is a culmination of this semester’s creative work by student choreographers and dancers.

There will be two performances each evening, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., in the Antoinette Falbo Theatre. Seating is general admission and all tickets are $9.

According to Yoav Kaddar, director of the WVU Dance Program, this year’s celebration concert will showcase new student works, with a variety of genres on the program. The ensembles range from duets to trios, all the way to a full cast of 24 dancers on stage at one time.

“This promises to be another exciting concert, a true celebration of a very productive fall semester in our program,” Kaddar said. “This hour-long event is short, but plentiful, and has something to offer to all ages and dance tastes.

“Out of this program of dances, a selected number will continue on and be fully produced at our main stage dance concert to be held February 5-7.”

Tickets for “A Celebration of Dance” may be purchased by calling (304) 293-SHOW or visiting the CAC Box Office located in the Creative Arts Center.
