West Virginia University students will begin to move into University Place on Wednesday, Nov. 19 through early January 2015.

University Place is a $70 million mixed use residential and retail complex in the heart of Morgantown’s Sunnyside district just a few blocks from WVU’s Downtown Campus.

Residents will have the opportunity to tour the building at an open house on Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 4-8 p.m. and at that time will be able to sign up for free moving assistance provided by the University.

Residents who sign-in at the open house will be given a welcome bag filled with goodies, including a $50 gift card. They will also have a kitchen stocked with groceries when they move into their new apartments.

University Place had anticipated completion earlier this summer but was delayed. The University worked to make alternate accommodations with residents while the building was completed this fall.

While the apartments will be ready for move-in next week, work still continues on the ground level, which will feature retail shops, eateries, a sports grille, coffee shop and new concept Sheetz “Made-to-Order” grocery store.
