The Laureate Wind Quintet, one of the premiere chamber ensembles in residence at West Virginia University, will present a recital at the Creative Arts Center, Thursday, Oct. 9.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (200A) and is free and open to the public.

Faculty members performing in the quintet include Nina Assimakopoulos, flutist, Cynthia Anderson, oboist, John Weigand, clarinetist, Lynn Hilemann, bassoonist, and Virginia Thompson, hornist.

They will be joined by special guest, pianist Peter Amstutz, also of the School of Music faculty.

Featured on the program will be: “Quintet For Piano and Winds E-Flat, KV 452” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), and following intermission: “Six Bagatelles for Wind Quintet” by Gy�rgy Ligeti (1923-2006), and “Wind Quintet, Op. 79” by August Klughardt (1847-1902).
