West Virginia University students and alumni are invited to attend the WVU Career & Internship Fair on Oct. 8–9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Mountainlair. Employers from across the country will be recruiting for summer internships and full-time employment opportunities for upcoming and recent graduates.

Sarah Rotruck Glenn, assistant director of the Career Services Center wants job seekers to recognize the broad range of opportunities available at the fair. With companies like TE Connectivity, which has opportunities for business and engineering students, and the U.S. Department of State recruiting at the fair, students will be able to look at a spectrum of job opportunities.

“Students should know that career fairs are not just an information gathering event; in fact, many employers will stay on-campus following the career fair to interview students that they meet during the event.” said Glenn. “So students need to arrive ready to network – this includes dressing professionally, having a polished resume and a 30 to 60 second elevator pitch ready to deliver.”

To encourage students to dress professionally, the Career Services Center is offering a LinkedIn photo booth at the fair. The formal portraits will be e-mailed to the students at no cost.
