West Virginia University’s Career Services Center is gearing up for the new football season by hosting a Career Kick-Off Tailgate on Friday (Sept. 5) from noon to 3 p.m. on the Mountainlair Plaza.

The day before the University’s home-opening football game against Towson, Career Services is encouraging students to come out and network with some of the best recruiters in the area while enjoying free food, traditional tailgating games, prizes and more.

Recruiters from First Energy, Enterprise-Rent-A-Car, The Domain, United Bank, WVU Healthcare, Sherwin-Williams, U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, Waterfront Place Hotel, Modern Woodmen of America, Frito-Lay, Coca Cola and U.S. Foodservice will be on hand to discuss future career opportunities with students.

“We want students to come, have a great time and to get fired up for our home opener. But we also have a few constructive takeaways planned. We want students to know who we are, what they need to do to be successful after WVU and what we can do to help them,” said David Durham, director of the Career Services Center.

The first 1,500 students to arrive will receive a free t-shirt. In addition, four students will win a new flat screen TV.
