West Virginia University students can take part in various wellness activities at a Wellness Wednesday event hosted by WELLWVU from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 27) outside the new Health and Education building on the Evansdale Campus.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in games designed to encourage students to make positive lifestyle choices. Students who follow WELLWVU’s social media pages and post “selfies” from Wellness Wednesday have the chance to win a gift card. Students can enjoy smoothies and earn prizes at the event. WVU Dining Services will feature samples of foods served in their new Greenhouse Caf, also in the Health and Education building.

Now in its third year, Wellness Wednesday encourages students to embrace health and wellbeing while at WVU and introduces students to tools and programs that can help them thrive.

“Wellness Wednesday is a fun way for students to start the academic year off in a proactive way,” said Colleen Harshbarger, director of WELLWVU Office of Wellness and Health Promotion. “Students can put themselves in the driver’s seat toward a vibrant and successful academic career by learning tips about living well and making a plan to use them.”
