Thousands of students at West Virginia University have attended the College of Business and Economics Distinguished Speaker Series since it began in 2011. The series features business leaders from all over the world, and provides the student and University communities access to highly successful individuals from the world of business.

As a result of the popularity of the series, the College has scheduled participation from five individuals during the fall 2014 academic semester at WVU:

Oct. 7, 4:00 p.m., Erickson Alumni Center Grand Hall
• Richard Pilnik, President, Global Communications Solutions of Quintiles Transnational Corp.
Oct. 23, 6:00 p.m., Erickson Alumni Center Grand Hall
• Marvin Samson, President and CEO, SICOR Biotech UAB
Nov. 5, 10:30 a.m., WVU Mountainlair Ballrooms

“Countless students have told us that they find these events to be invaluable, and that the B&E Distinguished Speaker Series gives them access to high caliber individuals who impact their educational experience,” said Jose Zito Sartarelli, Milan Puskar Dean of the College. “That’s exactly what we wanted to do. We wanted to provide a truly value-added experience at no cost to students at all. And the impact our speakers have had on students is overwhelmingly positive.”

Since Sept. 2011, 23 deans, entrepreneurs, company presidents, executives and other business leaders from around the globe have appeared in the College of Business and Economics Distinguished Speaker Series. The series is sponsored in part by Wells Fargo.
