Any West Virginia University student who has completed at least one full semester is eligible to apply for the $500 WVU Student Memorial Scholarship.

This scholarship will be granted to one qualified student who best exemplifies leadership. Students must have a cumulative collegiate GPA of 3.0 and be able to demonstrate good leadership skills, positive character and citizenship. Applicants must hold a leadership position within a student organization recognized by WVU, and they are required to write an essay based on their experiences as a leader and provide a current transcript with their cumulative GPA listed.

The scholarship application forms are available at the Student Organizations Office in the Student Organizations Wing of the Mountainlair and must be completed and returned by noon on March 21.

A representative panel of Student Government Association members and staff from the WVU Division of Student Affairs and Student Organizations Services will choose the winner.

The Student Memorial Scholarship will be announced on April 5 at the SGA Inauguration Ceremony held in the Mountainlair Ballrooms. The scholarship can be applied in the fall 2014 semester at WVU.
