A group of West Virginia University students is bringing the latest fashions to campus to benefit a local youth organization.

The Public Relations Student Society of America is partnering with the Fashion Business Association to host the fifth annual Boys and Girls Club Fashion Show on from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday (March 5) in the Gold Ballroom of the Mountainlair.

PRSSA members will model clothing and accessories from local Morgantown retailers including Ashley Cole Shop, Coni & Franc, Park & Madison, Altered Ego, and Cowboys and Angels. The show will also feature clothing designed by students from the Fashion Business Association. ASOS, a popular online fashion and beauty retailer, will provide gift vouchers, accessories, lip balms and magazines. The Domain, a local student housing community, will serve as the show’s main sponsor for the second year.

“Last year we raised more than $1,200 for the Mountaineer Boys and Girls Club, and this year we are striving to raise even more,” said Fashion Show Co-Director and PRSSA Secretary Brittany Crossetti. “We encourage everyone to come to the show and donate to a wonderful cause.”

Tickets for the fashion show are sold for $3 in advance at booths in the Mountainlair and for $5 at the door. All proceeds from event tickets and raffle ticket sales will benefit the Morgantown Boys and Girls Club.

“The Boys and Girls Club has made such a positive impact on so many children’s lives,” said Lexie Bramer, fashion show co-director and PRSSA vice president of internal relations. “This show is our way of giving back to an organization that has greatly benefited the children of Morgantown, while offering our members the chance to gain professional event-planning experience. It’s a win-win situation.”

The Boys and Girls Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe place for children to learn and grow through a positive atmosphere. The program promotes and enhances the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.
