The West Virginia University School of Music’s Choral Program, under the leadership of director Jeffery Redding, will present its 2014 Unity Concert on Sunday, Feb. 23.

The concert will begin at 3:15 p.m. in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre of the Creative Arts Center.

According to Dr. Redding, the concert will feature the song “Hope for Resolution,” which will combine the WVU Men’s Chorus, the WVU Women’s Chorus, the University Choir and the West Virginia Community Choir. They will be joined by special guest, The Appalachian Children’s Chorus, which is directed by Selina Midkiff.

Redding joined the WVU School of Music faculty last year. Previously, he served as the director of choral activities at West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Fla., where he was named Teacher of the Year in 2003.

Redding holds a doctorate in Choral Conducting/Music Education, a master’s degree in Music Education from the Florida State University and a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Florida A&M University.
